Petco

I go to the Petco in Glendale because they carry the Nulo Medal series dog food that my pups really love! The store is clean, and generally well stocked. The only product I ever have a challenge with purchasing is Hill’s science diet I/D low fat prescription food. I’ve heard people tend to buy all of the food when it’s on the shelf, which is there right, but that does it makes it hard for other customers who also have a need for the same food. Maybe quantity limits would be helpful or increasing availability. Other than this issue, I’m satisfied with my shopping experiences at this Petco location.

I visit the Glendale Petco in person only occasionally (I have a regular home delivery order for my cat's canned food), but every one of those occasions is a pleasure. The store is laid out logically and there's plenty of parking, but the best part of those visits is the staff. Every Petco associate I've encountered has been an absolute pleasure to deal with. Even when the place is relatively busy, they always take the time to give thoughtful, courteous answers to my question(s); and the checkout is always a cordial, friendly process. It almost makes me wish I had reasons to visit more often!

I want to give a huge shoutout to John at Petco! He was such a joy to work with, and I absolutely loved every minute of the 40 minutes I spent in the store. John took the time to educate me on everything I needed to know about the turtle I’ll be bringing home soon. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and made sure I felt confident about creating the right habitat and providing the best care. We also had a lot of laughs talking about our betta fish, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I ended up leaving with a new betta fish and everything I needed to prepare for my future turtle. When I come back, I’ll be specifically looking for John so we can officially complete my turtle setup together! This was, by far, the best experience I’ve ever had at Petco, and I’m already a Petco member. John’s knowledge, personality, and genuine passion for helping customers made all the difference. Thank you so much, John! You made my day, and I can’t wait to come back. 🐢🐠⭐️

UPDATE: Petco replied. I'll repeat...the dog is three weeks older than his last grooming there. Apparently some groomers in the store aren't afraid of treating older dogs and some are. The whole thing is ridiculous as the dog owner has to sign a release before any grooming. Petco: Get your groomers on the same page. Do something about the woman who is mentioned in so many of these reviews. EVERYONE ELSE: SCROLL THE REVIEWS OF THEIR GROOMING DEPT. Take your senior pets elsewhere. You can't trust Petco. Been taking my dog to this location for at least a year. He's had a heart murmur this whole time. In fact, he had this murmur when he was groomed there three weeks ago. Now suddenly they refuse to groom him bc of this murmur. The same murmur he had three weeks ago when they HAPPILY groomed him. And the woman who called couldn't have been ruder about it. Petco, you've lost all my business. I won't even buy cat litter at a company that discriminates against older dogs.
